Living Wage Employer
Given that poverty is the primary cause of housing instability and homelessness we believe in the importance of paying a living wage. We hope that other employers will join us in reducing housing instability and homelessness by supporting our efforts. We are honoured to be officially recognized as a certified living wage employer at the Champion Level.
What is the difference between minimum wage and a living wage?
Minimum wage is set by the provincial government and is the legislated minimum all employers must pay, while a living wage reflects what people need to earn in order to cover the actual costs of living in their community. The living wage is calculated on the needs of a family of four, with two adults each working full-time, full-year.
